A photo for every chair on the Jetcim skilift.
Port Aine is our local ski station, located about thirty minutes from our house, so we go up there most weekends in the season. The main chairlift, called Jetcim, takes you from the hotel at the bottom (at 2,000 metres altitude) up to Pic de l’Orri (the tippy top) which is at 2,440 metres. Jetcim has 122 chairlift seats, each seating six people.
I’m adding to this page every time I take a lift I haven’t been on yet, beginning in the 2023-2024 season. I don’t know how long it will take. Sometimes we drive up to the top (the Santana in the foreground), but Jetcim (in the background) is the more traditional transport.

A repeat from a year before with Saoirse, this time on my own.
All on my own again. Need a shave again. This was the Saturday before Christmas and I was getting in a bunch of runs all on my own.
A repeat, but worth bearing in mind that the Big 55 is coming for you in 2025, old man.
Sunny now, again with Rebecca.
The first one of the new season, a 101 course for myself and Rebecca.
Saoirse, monkey, sticking her tongue out. This is the last Jetcim chairlift of the season. Until next year!
Shout out to my locally made bamboo poles. Another seat I was on before with Ollie.
Blue sky end of season run.
Sunny Saint Patrick’s Day lap with Finchi and familia.
Half an hour later and the sun is out.
A month later, a Saint Patrick’s Day solo lap with a grey sky. Another repeat.
Back on my own again, a solo lap.
Carneval was a lovely sunny day. Laps and laps!
We’re Number 2 again!
For Carneval, Saoirse and Boí were dressed up as Super Mario. We did lots of runs together this day.
This one is a repeat, but with the unrepeatable Rebecca, all dressed up for Carneval.
Again with the loneliness. Usually I’m skiing alone when the kids are on their weekend classes.
So ronery. So cold.
We’re Number 2, we’re Number 2! All on my own again, not even the sun for company.
Ash taking the selfie. A repeat from Leland.
Ollie, Oscar, and Boí, another bright sunny day. Two in a row repeats!
Travelling with Fionn again. I was on this one before with Ash.
With Fionn, and in the background there’s Oscar and Ollie.
I’m pretty sure that says #17. I was on this one before with Ollie.
With Ash again. She keeps changing goggles.
Pondering the middle distance.
All on my own, trying to be casual while taking selfies with strangers.
Ollie again, looking happy!
There’s Ollie!
With Rrrrrrebecccca and Ash, who is here on her holidays.
I think that’s Ash beside me.
Into the light, Leland. Into the light.
A week later, two numbers down, more sunshine.
On my own again, in the sunshine.
Again with Boí and Pau.
With Boí and Pau, on a cold day.
This is a repeat (#83) but, hey, Happy New Year!
Rossa is here too.
Daithi Power, in the Pyrenees!
One number down from the last one.
Solo, but not for long.
Boí eating his sandwich.
Going up with Saoirse to do Rabasta, her favourite run. She’s four and is already a speed demon.
Boí slightly disappearing again.
We’re number one! With Boí slightly more visible, we caught the #1 chairlift on the first day.
The first one! Yay! With Boí on chairlift 83, a bright and sunny day. You can only see the top of Boí’s helmet. Hopefully, I’ll get better at selfies on a chairlift and not drop the phone in the process.
